I've been spending the last week getting up to speed on being a PalmSource employee. To reference Alice in Wonderland, I'm on the other side of the looking glass now. I'm amazed how much activity is going on inside the company, much of it not visible to the general public.
I'm out in California this week meeting up with lots of people around the company. I had a really nice talk earlier with Michael Mace, the Chief Competitive Office of PalmSource. You may have seen him doing one of the closing talks at the PalmSource developer convention. He and his staff are dedicated to looking at how Palm OS and the licensees can effectively compete in the mobile computing space. I found out that he was a fan of my writing, and he's supportive of this weblog and my continued postings on Palm OS enthusiast message boards. I got a few guidelines on how to handle sensitive topics without causing problems for the company, and we talked about how the contributions of third-party developers affect the platforms.
